We are delighted to inform you that the next SSP event will be taking place on Thursday 18 & Friday 19 September 2025. This year's event will be held at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. The 2025 event will be organised by Professor Jesse Dawson and the programme and registrations for the event will be released in due course.

Call for Abstracts - Scientific Presentations

Abstracts are invited for this meeting for poster or podium presentation. SSP welcomes work on any clinical, scientific or service topic from the breadth of general medicine and its subspecialties, as well as on topics such as patient safety, quality improvement and clinical audit. Abstracts will be scored and the top 7 will be selected for oral presentation.

The best presenter will be awarded the prestigious Fitzgerald Peel Prize. There are also prizes available for the best poster and best student poster. Presenters of abstracts selected for oral presentation will be eligible for a travel grant to support presentation of the work at national or international meetings: more information.

Call for submissions - Interactive Case Session

We are looking for submissions for our case based session. The case presentation will be presented by a trainee but also supported by a consultant in the relevant specialty who will help answer any questions from the audience. We are looking for a 10 minute case presentation, 15 minutes for discussion and 5 minutes for a summary and closing.

It is acceptable (with any permissions if relevant) to re-use case presentations that you may have done at grand rounds / meetings in your hospital in recent past. Cases can come from any medical specialty.

The deadline for all submissions is Wednesday 11 June 2025 and should be sent to ssp.admin@rcpe.ac.uk.

The forms to submit your abstract are found below:
