Research and Policy
The College influences health policy and medical research to improve the quality of care and patient safety.
We believe that health policy should be evidence-based, where possible, and we work to ensure that the views and experiences of physicians are taken into account by policymakers throughout the UK. We do this through the development and advocacy of our own strategic policy, by responding to a wide range of consultations, and by engaging with policymakers and other stakeholders.
Consultation Responses
We respond to a wide range of consultations in order to ensure that the views and experiences of physicians are taken into account by policymakers.
Strategic Policy Activity
We meet regularly with elected representatives and other stakeholders on a cross-party basis to improve wider political understanding about the pressures within medicine. We also provide a strong voice within the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges.
Health Priorities
These documents set out the College’s healthcare priorities and calls on elected representatives to implement measures relating to health and wellbeing, workforce planning and training, and the integration of health and social care.
