
The Tuanku Muhriz Fellowship in Rural/Urban Malaysia
The Tuanku Muhriz Fellowship offers you the opportunity to experience medical practice throughout Malaysia. Spending time in remote and rural practice as well as urban situations, you will experience tropical medicine and better understand Malaysia’s healthcare system.
This Fellowship allows you to spend two weeks learning about medicine in a variety of situations in mainland Malaysia. We have partnered with College of Physicians of Malaysia (COPM) and Malaysian Advanced Acute Internal Medicine and Ultrasound Society (MAAIMUS) who will organise placements in hospitals and clinics for you and assist you in arranging accommodation and transport.
Eligibility:
- A higher specialty trainee (ST6+) or
- A physician consultant (within the first 10 years post CCT) or
- A SAS doctor
Award:
Up to £3000
Applicants must have trained in the United Kingdom and be a Fellow or Member of RCPE in good standing.

Applications will be assessed by a committee comprised of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh Scholarship Committee, COPM and the Malaysian Advanced Acute Internal Medicine and Ultrasound Society.
The successful candidate will be required to write a completion report upon their return. This may be published in a Malaysian Journal, RCPE Journal or equivalent and should include case reports/learning reports. They may also be asked to present their findings at the COPM Annual Scientific Congress and/or an RCPE Symposium. The report may also be published in College News and be used by the College to secure publicity for the Award.
