The College are delighted to return to Preston for the annual North West England Symposium, which will offer an up-date on a broad range of topics delivered by inspiring and highly regarded speakers from the region.

The role of being ‘On Take’ for non-selective admissions in General Medicine is increasingly challenging due to continuous advancements across all medical specialties. Each year, new medications and procedures are introduced, bringing with them potential side effects that needs to be managed during ‘On Take’.

This symposium will provide essential updates on the latest treatments for diabetes, immunotherapy, and interstitial lung disease, which non-specialists often encounter out of hours while ‘On Take’. Additionally, it will cover initial strategies for managing common acute admission issues such as liver injury, uncontrolled hypertension, kidney injury, tachycardia, skin problems, and psychiatric conditions before specialist advise is available.

We will also explore the potential role of Artificial Intelligence in future medical practices.

This conference is open to all levels and is invaluable for General Physicians involved in ‘On Take’ and other specialists looking to expand their knowledge of recent developments in other medical specialties.
