Kimesha Moodley

I am a South African doctor who obtained a MBChB degree with distinction from the University of Pretoria. Thereafter, I completed a medical internship and community service period, gaining clinical experience in a variety of fields during rotations through numerous South African clinics and hospitals.

I have a keen interest in Internal Medicine and wish to specialise in this field. As such, I was drawn to the exceptional programme offered by the University of Edinburgh which has provided me with excellent opportunities to expand my knowledge and clinical expertise. Application of the evidence-based medicine taught by the University of Edinburgh has enhanced my ability to provide quality medical care, and provided me with the knowledge to teach other medical practitioners and students. Additionally, the MSc has allowed me to improve my research abilities.

I am exceedingly grateful to the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh for awarding me the scholarship as it will allow me to complete the MSc. I hope to continue to enhance my knowledge and skills in the field of Internal Medicine so that I may better serve the communities in which I work.
