Dayna Rodney

I grew up in Birmingham in the West Midlands. Following a careers session at school, I knew I wanted to become either a nurse or a midwife. Fortunately I have been able to study and work in both professions.

I completed my BSc Hons in adult nursing in 2010 at Birmingham City university, I have since worked in a variety of areas in the profession and doing this I developed a real passion for critical care. However in 2016 I made the transition from nursing to midwifery, as it was always something I felt I needed to explore. Being a midwife I learnt so much and loved the privilege of helping to create families. Since then I have relocated and I am currently working in general critical care.

I hope to use the knowledge gained from the MSc in critical care at Edinburgh university to provide team training, and knowledge of best practice for treating unwell obstetric patients.

I am very grateful to RCPE for awarding me this scholarship to obtain my MSc in critical care.
