UK opportunities with training for international trainees

We help to facilitate opportunities with training in the UK for international medical graduates and are exploring ways to support UK trainees experience working abroad.

The College is a sponsor for the Medical Training Initiative (MTI), a UK Government scheme, which allows a number of international medical graduates to work and train for up to 2 years in the UK before returning home.

The MTI is most suited to doctors who have completed their core general medical training equivalent in the home country and are in a higher specialty programme. Our MTI provides excellent UK experience in a quality assured post and could be targeted to the attainment of specific specialty skills.

International training opportunities for UK trainees

The College is exploring how we can support UK trainees taking time out-of-programme to experience working in another country. If you are a Fellow of the College based outside the UK and would be interested in providing training or volunteering opportunities to UK trainees or physicians, please contact Dr Conor Maguire, VP International.
