Ensuring the views of Doctors in Training are represented across the College.
Our Trainees and Members' Committee is one of the UK's most active and influential trainee groups and ensures the views and experiences of Doctors in Training are represented to policymakers. They provide resources to support you at all stages of your career, from medical student to consultant. Below you can meet our committee, listen to our podcasts and find out how to get involved.
The committee is UK representatives of elected and co-opted post-MRCP members and pre-MRCP associates. If you're interested in the work of this committee or would like to find out more, please contact trainees@rcpe.ac.uk.
The T&MC host two podcasts which cover medical careers and clinical topics. Each episode has a guest who shares their knowledge and experience with a member of the committee.
The T&MC have a unique opportunity to represent doctors in training with RCPE and external boards. The College looks to them to ensure the opinions and concerns of Doctors in Training are reflected and highlighted.

T&MC also represent on JRCPTB, the UK Academy of Medical Royal Colleges Resident Doctors Group, the Scottish Academy of Trainees' Group, the Scottish Resident Doctor Group, the General Internal Medicine Specialty Advisory Group, the BMA and the GMC.
The T&MC organise regular online Evening Medical Updates (EMUs) designed and tailored around the Internal Medicine Training curriculum running from September - June. You can join from home or a confirmed live link site across the world. These are free to attend for all members of RCPE.
In July each year the T&MC run a free evening event entitled 'Tip Tips for new doctors' to provide insight and guidance into how to navigate the transition from medical student to doctor.
The T&MC also deliver an annual symposium tailored for those doctors in training as well as those currently undertaking their undergraduate training to be a doctor. The event includes talks form multiple different specialties as well as the opportunity to present cases, research or quality improvement projects. This event is free for all members of RCPE.
