After completing my MBBS degree in 2018, I developed a keen interest in clinical gastroenterology while working in Sri Lanka. To date, I have assisted in multiple published clinical research articles. Having worked in various healthcare settings, I believe doctors face the greatest difficulties in low-resource settings where disease prognosis is usually not favourable to the patients. I have always been eager to learn novel techniques and management strategies to help patients achieve a better prognosis.
I believe continuous professional development keeps a physician’s mind and skills sharp at all times. This program has provided me with the optimal balance between clinical skills for professional development and in-depth knowledge of key topics in medicine. I am confident that the knowledge I gain from this program will have a positive impact on my career and the patients.
I am honoured and sincerely thank the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh for awarding me the scholarship. I will strive to live up to it by providing the best quality healthcare to the patients.
