I was born and brought up in Saudi Arabia. I completed my O-levels and A-Levels there. I was particularly interested in the science subjects, and did exceedingly well at these. Upon my father’s retirement as a government Nurse in Saudi Arabia, I came to Bangladesh to pursue my medical degree. The immense difference in lifestyle and living conditions between the two countries ignited my passion to pursue the medical profession further.
I completed my MBBS degree from Tairunnessa Memorial Medical College and Hospital, Targach, Gazipur in 2014 and completed my internship in 2015. I then got married and moved to the UK in 2016. From here I have been actively pursuing my medical career whilst working as a Respiratory Assistant for Whittington Hospital NHS trust.
I am extremely privileged to have been awarded the opportunity to study the MSc Internal Medicine at the University of Edinburgh, as well as obtaining the scholarship from the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. The online Masters programme will allow me to continue meeting my financial commitments whilst pursuing my medical career ambitions. The topics taught in the MSc supplements the MRCP curriculum which will prepare me for the Royal College of Physicians examination. I plan to take this soon after completing this MSc.
