Bethany Haynes
I moved from a small coastal village in North Norfolk to Edinburgh in 2013 to study Nursing at the University of Edinburgh where I graduated in 2017 with a first-class honours degree.
My final year placement in ICU at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh confirmed my aspiration to work in critical care and I have worked in this unit since qualifying as a staff nurse. I have undertaken various courses to develop within my role and in May 2018 I enrolled at Edinburgh Napier University to complete the critical care foundation course which provided an excellent base knowledge. I am now ready to enhance this knowledge further with the Critical Care MSc.
I am very grateful for the scholarship provided by the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and my ambition is to use this MSc to not only enhance the care I provide to benefit my patients but also facilitate my goal to become an advanced nurse practitioner.
