I graduated from Wolverhampton University in 2009 as a registered nurse with a DipHE in adult nursing, going onto do further top-up courses obtaining my BSc shortly after. During this time, I worked on a general surgical assessment ward specialising in colorectal, vascular and bariatric. Going on to do a rotation on orthopaedic and medicine before joining Critical Care at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
After joining Critical Care I found my love for the speciality and knew this was where I wanted to continue my life long career. Since joining Critical Care in 2013 I have acquired a BSc specialist qualification, becoming a manager within a cardio- thoracic area before leaving to join the Armed Forces as a nursing officer, where I manage a team within critical care and I can continue working within an area I love.
I am honoured and extremely grateful to have been awarded a scholarship by the RCPE to start my MSc in Critical Care, expanding my knowledge base further.
