I graduated in the first class with both BMedSci(Hon) and MBChB from the University of Cape Town in 2017. I completed my medical internship at Tygerberg Hospital in 2019, and subsequently spent a year in the rural North-West Province of South Africa. As of July 2022, I am currently working as a combined Intensive Care and Pulmonology medical officer in Kwa-Zulu Natal.
It has been my goal to specialize in Internal Medicine since early medical school - although it is the most challenging field where seemingly no knowledge is beyond the scope of daily practice, it is also a field that testifies to the essence of the medical sciences – knowledge in the service of humanity.
The MSc program from University of Edinburgh provides accessible, world-class teaching, in a practical and engaging format. This program will empower me to practice Internal Medicine to the highest of standards, thereby benefiting the patients and junior colleagues I interact with daily.
I would like to express my deep gratitude to the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh for this scholarship, as well as the University of Edinburgh for creating the MSc program that truly transcends borders.
