Expressions of interest are invited, from suitable candidates, for the role of Director of Quality Improvement & Patient Safety. This is an Office Bearer post with direct accountability to Council.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Serve as the College’s ambassador in promoting excellence and championing the provision and development of quality improvement and patient safety across the NHS.
  • Leading the development of quality improvement and patient safety activities.
  • Responsibility for leading College activities relating to clinical and professional quality improvement and patient safety projects.

This is a senior post for a Fellow who wishes to help shape and promote the work of the College. Day-to-day communications are via email and video-link with attendance at a number of events and meetings including Council.

Any UK based RCPE Fellow in good standing, working in any of the physicians’ specialties may apply for the role, noting the special responsibilities.

The post is unremunerated however reasonable expenses for travel and subsistence will be payable, in line with College policies.
