The College seeks to appoint a new Chair of the Quality Governance Collaborative Board, following the end of the current Chair’s term of office.

It is expected that the applicant will have a high level of expertise in Chairing within National / International health and/or associated organisations. The post holder will engage with both National & international organisations and enrich the profile of the Quality Governance Collaborative both within the UK and internationally.

Please review the Role Description for full details. In brief, the Chair is expected to:

  • Serve as a RCPE QGC’s ambassador in promoting excellence in governance and championing the provision and development of quality governance in healthcare on behalf of the RCPE Quality Governance Collaborative.
  • Promote the development of quality governance in healthcare – by identifying how the QGC can increase its presence and footprint both nationally and internationally.
  • Work closely with the QGC Director, senior independent director, QGC Ambassador and Board to ensure QGC promotes excellence in governance in healthcare on behalf of the RCPE both nationally and internationally.
  • Lead the QGC Board, ensuring it effectively delivers its functions in an active and collaborative manner – by setting the agenda, format and tone of Board activities to promote effective decision making and constructive debate.

The post is unremunerated, but reasonable travel expenses will be paid. The term of office is three years, subject to satisfactory annual appraisal.

Operationally, the College’s Quality Governance Collaborative sits within the Department of Global Engagement.

It is the expectation that the Chair will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working within healthcare related Boards and demonstrate a refined expertise in working with an international portfolio.
