Part Time Role: Business Development Co-ordinator

Salary:                  £25,092 Grade 115 pro rata (FTE 35 hours)

Department:         Venue

Hours:                  up to 20 hours per week on a permanent basis

     4 or 5 days per week – currently hybrid working with a decision on long term yet to be           agreed

                 Occasional weekend and evening working (minimal travel)

One of the ways we do this is by letting our venue space commercially to support the College’s activity in educating and supporting trained doctors and doctors in training who are pursuing a career in specialist internal medicine.

A prestigious location in the centre of Edinburgh makes RCPE an ideal venue to host medical, association, corporate, wedding and private events. A vacancy has arisen for a Business Development Co-ordinator to join the College Venue team.

 

The Role

The Business Development Co-ordinator is a key role in the venue team.  The role will support the Venue Manager in delivering the sales strategy for commercial lettings, virtual, hybrid and in-person commercial events.  

The post holder will promote and sell the commercial events activities of the College through direct meetings with potential clients, promotional and networking activities, forming alliances with appropriate partners and traditional sales activity. They will seek to identify potential new clients and expand existing client relationships.

Working closely with the Venue Manager and Marketing Manager, the role will support: social media activity, content and sales and marketing campaigns. The candidate will also be expected to develop an annual programme of promotional events to grow business.

The Person

First and foremost, the venue is looking for a candidate with exceptional people skills who will ensure a high level of customer service: with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders – both internal and external.

The candidate will be skilful at navigating social media for business, confident at networking to gain new business and work alongside others to deliver elements of a marketing campaign. Alongside event experience, strong communication skills are required and a proven ability to negotiate and influence.

Working within an agreed framework, there is a degree of independent working which requires excellent time management, planning and reporting skills.

 

Remuneration Package

The salary for this role will be £25,092 pro rata plus benefits.  Additional benefits include:
