I grew up in rural Somerset in the South West of England but decided to make the big move to Glasgow in 2007. I was awarded a MBChB from the University of Glasgow in 2012 and I have since worked for 6 years within a variety of specialities and locations within NHS Scotland. I continue to work on a locum basis after completing my Core Medical Training in the South West of Scotland and attaining my MRCP(UK) in 2018. I am at a stage where I wish to continue to improve and expand upon the MRCP curriculum whilst simultaneously progressing in my clinical training with the aim of applying for registrar training this year.
I feel very privileged to have the exciting opportunity to study the MSc in Internal Medicine at the University of Edinburgh and am delighted to be awarded this scholarship from the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. I hope that improving my knowledge basis and skills by completing the MSc will allow me to grow into a more effective clinician and enhance my ability to work as an effective team member in my chosen career.
