I am a medical graduate from Bangladesh and an ECFMG certified MD from the United States. I have extensive clinical & research experience in the fields of Medicine and Cardiology in Bangladesh as well as in the USA. I am currently doing clinical externship in Cardiology along with MRCP exams towards GMC registration. I am equally involved with various clinical and community-based research and have a few papers in the pipeline for publication. At present I am working as a principal investigator in a research project named "AAAFib study". I am actively involved with various social services including being a volunteer/sponsor/advocate for UNICEF, Food for Hungry, Global Citizen, American Heart Association, British Heart Foundation, etc. I am highly enthusiastic and motivated to work in the field of Cardiology and envision myself as a cardiologist with clinical excellence who can play an active role in improving the health of the global village.
However, I believe it is impossible to be a good cardiologist without having a strong knowledge of medicine. The MSc in Internal Medicine programme at the University of Edinburgh will definitely provide me with a solid foundation in medicine and I feel deeply honoured to be rewarded with the prestigious RCPE scholarship. It will definitely lighten my financial burden, which will not only allow me to be more focused on my studies but also enable me to be more engaged in serving patients in my community. Last but not least I thank the University of Edinburgh and RCPE for awarding me this scholarship.
