Dr J Kenneth McAlpine

I am a retired Consultant Physician in Medicine for the Elderly. Formerly I worked in Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley then in Aberdeen at Woodend Hospital and Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

My interest in supporting the Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity Group arises in part from a recognition of the need for Equity in Medicine, Society, the NHS as well as within the College. My lived experience and perspective in relation to aspects of the need for Diversity and Inclusivity nudged me towards participation. It is increasingly recognised that contributions from multiple and diverse points of view can improve an outcome hence my wish to participate.
