Marisa Haetzman was a consultant anaesthetist for more than 20 years. She has worked in London, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Glasgow. Including at Wishaw General Hospital in Lanarkshire. She also has a master’s degree in the history of medicine. Her dissertation focused on the early use of chloroform. She has written four books with her husband Christopher Brookmyre, under the pseudonym Ambrose Parry.
