Physic Gardens

For many centuries gardens were at the centre of the evolving science and practice of medicine. Scotland, and especially Edinburgh, was at the forefront of medical innovation in the 1700s and physic gardens were dotted around the city - to provide medicines as well as educational resources for Edinburgh's medical students.
