William Alexander Copland

Biography

Dr William Alexander Copland was a Fellow of the Royal Faculty of Radiologists, a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and before his retirement he was the consultant in charge of the Radiology Department of the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. In 1941 Copland commenced his medical studies at Aberdeen University, completing in five years due to the war. Copland then signed up for national service in the Royal Navy in 1946 and was posted to the Persian Gulf. He later joined the Royal Naval Reserve.
