Salary: £30,640
Location: Edinburgh
35 hours per week – Fixed term contract for up to 1 year or when the role-holder returns
We are seeking to appoint a committed and adaptable individual to support SHAAP’s work to reduce harms from alcohol in Scotland, by contributing to SHAAP’s projects and research, and communicating work, policy and evidence effectively to stakeholders.
The Role
Please refer to the Job Description for the full details. The Research and Projects Co-ordinator role includes:
- To input to projects, including research, in a timely manner
- To research and draft relevant briefings, reports, publications and information materials
- To keep the SHAAP website updated and distribute information to mailing lists
- To support the general running of SHAAP’s operations
- To undertake any other reasonable tasks requested by the SHAAP Director/wider team
The Person

- Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
- Ability to interpret and use qualitative and quantitative data
- Ability to draft materials for different audiences
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent IT skills including use of the standard office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, email/internet), and experience of using databases
- Knowledge of, and interest in, alcohol policy
- Highly-organised; able to self-manage and work as part of a team
- Demonstrable competence in utilising social media
Remuneration Package
The salary for this role will be £30,640 per annum plus benefits. Additional benefits include:
- Pension: with employer contributions of 9%.
