One of the ways we do this is by letting our venue space commercially to support the College’s activity in educating and supporting trained doctors in training who are pursuing a career in specialist internal medicine.

A prestigious location at the centre of Edinburgh makes RCPE an ideal venue to host medical, association, corporate, wedding and private events. A vacancy has arisen for an Events Co-ordinator to join the RCPE Venue Team to support a full Calendar of Events.

 

The Role

Do you have the drive and passion to deliver exceptional events? The Events Co-ordinator is a key role within the Venue Team delivering of conferences and celebrations for our commercial and College events.

As Events Co-ordinator, you’ll play a key role in organising our event offering, as well as fostering meaningful relationships with our existing internal and external clients, you will be an exceptional communicator and have a passion for delivering world class events. Your positivity, inquisitiveness and work ethos will enable you to thrive in what is a high touch customer centric environment.

You’ll work with the Lead Events Co-ordinators supporting them to deliver the Venues ambition to be the venue of choice in Edinburgh for conferences and celebrations, you’ll also support an annual programme of promotional events to grow event enquiries across our targeted market segments.

This is a full-time, permanent role based at the College in Queen Street, Edinburgh, with flexibility for a form of hybrid working to be agreed.

The Person

First and foremost, the venue is looking for a candidate with exceptional people skills who will ensure a high level of customer service: with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders – both internal and external.

As an events/hospitality professional you’ll be supported by the Lead Co-ordinators to deliver our full Calendar of Events in 2022 and beyond.

The candidate will be skilful at finding a way to say yes in a customer centric environment and possess strong communication skills and a passion for the events industry is paramount. Fundamentally, your insight, commitment and market knowledge will make you a vital part of the Venue Team.

Working within an agreed framework, there is a degree of independent working supported by the Lead Event Co-ordinators and requires excellent planning, time management and customer service skills.  

 

Remuneration Package

The salary for this role will be £20,986 per annum plus benefits. Additional benefits include:

  • Pension: with employer contributions of 9%.
  • Holidays: 23 days annual leave pro rata (with incremental increase over five years to 28 days) and 11 days public holiday/College close downs.
