Part 1: UK

The contingency exam for the first diet will run entirely online on 30 March. All candidates who have been transferred to this from the main exam in January have already been contacted.

All further diets in 2021 will run entirely online in the UK. Candidates who are accepted for future diets but not able to sit the online version of the exam, including those who require reasonable adjustments should see the guidance we published this week about how to apply to sit a paper version of the exam.

The next main diet will run on 11 May. The application window is now open (closes on 26 February).

Part 1: International

As above, the next diet will be 11 May, the application window is currently open and will close on 26 February.

Most international centres will run the exam in pencil and paper format. Selected areas and candidates enrolled in a Federation training programme will have an online option – candidates in those areas will be contacted directly.

Part 2: UK

The next diet will take place on 23 March. The application window for this is now closed.

This will run entirely online in the UK, as will all further exams in 2021. Candidates who have been accepted but are not able to sit the online version of the exam, including those who require reasonable adjustments should see the guidance we published this week about how to apply to sit a paper version of the exam.

A contingency online exam for this diet will also be run – the precise date will be published soon.

Part 2: International

As above, the next diet will be 23 March, and the application window is now closed.

Specialty Certificate Exams / European Specialty Exams

All SCE / ESE exams for 2021 are currently planned to run as scheduled, in Pearson Vue centres; details for each specialty can be found here.

Contingency exams for each SCE / ESE (for candidates whose place is cancelled or who, after registration, cannot take the exam due to COVID-related reasons) are being arranged, and dates will also be put on the website for each specialty as they are finalised.

Live Twitter chats

Live Q&A sessions about the exams occur on our Twitter account on a regular basis, arranged around the time of upcoming exams. The next one will occur on Tuesday 2 March at 3pm.
